Miskolc, September 18, 2025 – With the official opening of its new plant in Miskolc, Hungary, Meleghy Automotive is sending a strong signal of customer proximity, transformation and future viability – and reaffirming its commitment to the further development of the automotive industry in the wake of electromobility.
The new greenfield plant offers state-of-the-art production solutions on around 6,500 square meters. With a wide range of innovative joining technologies and highly automated processes, Meleghy Automotive will manufacture components and welded assemblies for premium customers including BMW and Mercedes – in close proximity to a dynamic industrial ecosystem with numerous suppliers, research initiatives and exciting market entries.

designated CEO of Meleghy Automotive and project manager for the construction of the new plant, emphasizes: “For me personally, the opening in Miskolc is a very special moment. We have been working on this project for years with a great team – with passion, energy and a clear goal: to realize sustainable projects close to our customers. Miskolc is a milestone for Meleghy Automotive and at the same time the starting point for the next phase of our company’s development.” There are currently around 20 employees in Miskolc, with the number set to grow to over 50 in the medium term. Meleghy Automotive is thus making an important contribution to the economic development of the region and positioning itself as an attractive employer with a German character in Hungary.
Peter Katona, Plant Manager Miskolc, adds: “This plant combines the strengths of German engineering with the dynamism of the region. Together with our customers, we are laying the foundations to successfully shape the mobility of tomorrow.” Representatives of Hungarian politics and business also emphasized the importance of the investment.
