On July 28th in 2015 Meleghy Automotive Group took over the company Lahnwerk Rubi S.A.U. Lahnwerk Rubi is a spanish company based in Abrera in the region of Barcelona and was part of the Spanish group IPM. This step is the beginning of the internationalization of the Meleghy Automotive Group and another important milestone in its growth strategy.
The two acquired plants with a staff of around 230 now make it possible for Meleghy Automotive Group also to serve its customers on the Iberian Peninsula with high-quality products with short transport distances. In addition to a local stamping plant, it now also has the necessary process technology of a modern car body building and a modern KTL system for the coating of sheet metal assemblies and is thus also represented in its core business on the Iberian peninsula.
The Meleghy Automotive Group and the divesting IPM group will be interested in a joint collaboration in the future and are already looking for possible improvements to the use of synergies.
The sale process was conducted in a constructive manner between the two parties and accompanied by high professionalism and commitment by Baker Tilly Spain and Albia Capital.
