At the end of January 2025, Meleghy Automotive celebrated the inauguration of its new 2,000 t twin-servo transfer press at the Bernsbach site. The event attracted numerous guests from industry, business and politics and marked another milestone in the development of the site.
Top-class technology for the automotive industry
With a pressing force of 2,000 tons and high-precision servo technology, the new system sets new standards in metal processing. It was invested in to meet the increasing demands of the modern automotive industry. In addition to its high energy efficiency, the press impresses with its flexible production processes, precise control systems and fully automatic material feed. This enables consistently efficient production.
Dr. Gyula Meleghy, CEO of Meleghy Automotive, emphasized the importance of this investment in his speech: “With this modern technology, we are securing the competitiveness of our location and at the same time creating long-term prospects for our employees and the region.”
Political support for Lauter-Bernsbach and the region
Die Bedeutung der Investition wurde auch durch die Anwesenheit von hochrangigen politischen Gästen unterstrichen. Thomas Kralinski, Staatssekretär im Sächsischen Staatsministerium für Wirtschaft, Arbeit, Energie und Klimaschutz, und der Bürgermeister von Bernsbach, Thomas Kunzmann, sprachen zu den geladenen Gästen.
Staatssekretär Kralinski hob hervor:
“Thanks to the commissioning of the transfer press, Meleghy Automotive will be able to meet very high customer requirements even better in future. I am delighted with the company’s clear commitment to Saxony as an industrial location with its long tradition as an automotive state. The considerable investment at the Bernsbach site shows how companies can secure their technological leadership and thus remain successful even in challenging times.”
The mayor also emphasized the importance of the project:
„Die neue Servo-Transferpresse ist ein bedeutendes Zeichen für den Standort Lauter-Bernsbach. Wir sind stolz darauf, dass ein global agierendes Unternehmen wie Meleghy Automotive in unsere Region investiert und Arbeitsplätze langfristig sichert.“

The Lauter-Bernsbach site will not only be strengthened as an important production location, but also positioned as an attractive employer and reliable partner for customers and suppliers.
