Stamping capacity expansion and investment in the future

Meleghy Automotive Brandýs is taking delivery of a new 600-ton progressive press from Simpac (South Korea) for the strategic expansion of its stamping capacities and as an investment in the future. With its location, the easternmost plant of Meleghy Automotive has a strong position in the future automotive market. It is therefore important to further expand the plant and strengthen its capacities.

In addition to a new plant hall, the process chain was expanded from a pure assembly plant to include forming technology a few years ago with the investment in a mini-tandem line. The 600-ton progressive press is the next step into the future of the site. With this investment, Meleghy Automotive is pursuing a strategy of increasing the forming capacity of the Brandýs plant and thus enabling it to produce its own parts. On the other hand, Brandýs is to act as a strong supplier in the subassembly sector within the group of companies. The press will initially be used mainly for small to medium-sized components.

The press, which has already been accepted in South Korea and arrived at Brandýs, is now waiting to be installed. Currently, the first preparations in the form of foundation work are taking place at the plant. The SOP (start of production) of the press is scheduled for the beginning of May.
