The Thuringian Minister of Economic Affairs, Wolfgang Tiefensee, has been following the positive development of the Meleghy Automotive plant in Gera for some time. As a native of Gera, he is particularly interested in creating new and reliable jobs. Meleghy International is a positive example for him of how this is successfully implemented at the Gera site. This is achieved both through in-house training of specialists, internal further training of employees and through cooperation with the employment agencies.
Already at the beginning of his Thuringian term of office in 2015, he informed himself about the plans and situation of the company. In 2017, together with the management, he explored possibilities for support from the country and the EU. Unfortunately, due to the size already achieved, no financial resources could be made available. Nevertheless, Minister Tiefensee did not miss the opportunity to find out about the current status of the implementation of the new major electric mobility project and the associated job creation on site.
